Before compiling your estimate with the Estimating & Budgeting Spreadsheet, or whatever method you use, you will need to get prices from subcontractors and suppliers. On larger jobs with multiple bids from competing subs and suppliers, it can be tricky to keep track of who offered what at what price.
On those jobs, Itemized Bid Worksheets make it easy to track all bids. The worksheets allow a lot of flexibility. You can break down items as much as needed, compare prices from competing vendors, and select and tally the winning bids. Data from losing bids can come in handy for future jobs, or even the current job, if a sub or supplier falls through.
The Itemized Bid Worksheet for Kitchen & Bath (download below) corresponds to the K&B section of the Estimating & Budgeting Spreadsheet. In this case, a single line item on the Estimating Spreadsheet, Kitchen Cabinets, is broken down into Cabinets, Pulls, and Countertops to reflect separate bids.
You can create your own Bid Worksheets for each work category with the Master Form (download below). Once you’ve completed each Itemized Bid Worksheet, you can enter the winning bids into your Estimating & Budgeting Spreadsheet.
